Man who accidentally shot himself while fishing, reunites with airboat operator who came to his aid

BEAUMONT, Texas — A 68-year-old retiree who accidentally shot himself during a fishing trip this fall met face-to-face with the Houston man who helped save his life, marking an emotional reunion that has blossomed into a lasting friendship.

Glenn Guidry was fishing on Taylor’s Bayou when he hooked a 4-foot long alligator gar and attempted to shoot it. The gun misfired, striking his arm instead.
