HOUSTON — A Houston man who was detained by ICE during a routine asylum interview in November will remain in custody for at least another six weeks, according to his attorney.
Jorge Hernandez was arrested on November 4 during what was supposed to be a standard interview with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Despite having no criminal history, ICE officers took him into custody in the middle of the proceeding.
Hernandez is scheduled to return to court on January 24. His attorney says deportation remains a real threat…
