Fentanyl still flooding the Valley as DEA pushes for 0 deaths

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) —The Drug Enforcement Agency has launched a new nationwide initiative called Fentanyl Free America, aiming for zero deaths from the deadly synthetic drug as fentanyl seizures continue to rise across the country.

DEA Houston Division spokesperson Sally Sparks said the initiative focuses on eliminating fentanyl from communities by reducing both its supply and demand.

“We want it to be no deaths from the synthetic drugs,” Sparks said. “We want the availability of fentanyl to be reduced to zero, for this synthetic deadly drug to no longer exist in our communities.”…
