BEAUMONT, Texas — Family and friends gathered Saturday morning at Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church in Houston to remember and lay to rest LaQuanta Edwards, a Beaumont woman whose life was cut short earlier this month.
Beaumont police said Edwards’ body was found Dec. 5 near Tyrrell Park. Authorities have charged 34-year-old Thaddeaus McCray with her murder. He remains in custody with bond set at $1.5 million.
Investigators said Edwards called a friend the night before her body was discovered, asking for help. After Edwards shared her location, the friend contacted police. That tip led investigators to an inquiry that spanned three separate crime scenes, police said…
