Baytown Sterling High School student’s cause of death released by medical examiner

The death of a Goose Creek CISD student last week has been ruled a homicide by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, which also released the 16-year-old’s cause of death.

Sterling High School student Andrew Meismer died from a stab wound to the neck, according to the Institute of Forensic Sciences, which serves as the county’s medical examiner. Aundre Matthews, 18, faces murder charges in Meismer’s death and is accused of stabbing him in the neck with a pair of scissors over a missing vape pen, prosecutors said Friday in court.
