Suspected Worcester Shooter Arrested in Houston After Multi-Agency Manhunt

After years of eluding law enforcement, a man wanted in connection with multiple shooting incidents in Worcester has finally been captured. 29-year-old Kenneth Diaz had fled in 2022 and had been successfully avoiding capture until an elaborate multi-agency effort led to his arrest. Diaz was found in Houston, Texas, allegedly thanks to critical information sharing among various law enforcement agencies.

Law enforcement had been on his trail since the shooting incidents dating back to 2019. Previous attempts by the Worcester Police Department to track down Diaz were futile until a coordinated effort in November 2025 brought together the Worcester Police Department Gang Unit, Crime Gun Intelligence Unit and Detective Bureau with the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the U.S. Marshal Service, according to an official statement by the Worcester Police Department. It was during this meeting that a female associated with Diaz was identified, a woman who herself had vanished after the 2022 shooting incident that implicated Diaz.

Surveillance conducted by the U.S. Marshals in Houston eventually led to the identification of this female associate and subsequently, the sighting of a male believed to be Diaz. Confirming the suspect’s identity heralded the swift action of the U.S. Marshals who, on December 3, made entry into the woman’s residence and apprehended Diaz.
