MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – A 61-year-old Conroe man is in custody facing multiple felony charges following a violent domestic disturbance that left a Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputy with significant leg injuries.
The Incident
On Sunday, January 11, 2026, deputies responded to a home in the Conroe area following reports of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, units encountered Soumaila Yacouba, who authorities say had already assaulted a family member.
When deputies moved to place Yacouba under arrest, he reportedly became combative. A violent struggle ensued as officers worked to subdue him. During the altercation, one deputy suffered a dislocated ankle and a fractured leg.
Charges and Official Response
Yacouba was eventually taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail. He has been charged with:
- Assault on a Public Servant/Police Officer (3 Counts)
- Assault Causing Bodily Injury – Family Violence
Sheriff Wesley Doolittle issued a stern warning regarding the incident, emphasizing that violence against law enforcement will be met with the full force of the law.
