Montgomery County judge formally adopts a woman he met while she was in foster care almost 25 years ago

Montgomery County Judge Wayne Mack and his wife adopted a daughter, Michelle, last month — bringing her four sons and granddaughter into the family as well.

The unusual adult adoption is the culmination of a 25-year journey that began when Mack, then a reserve captain with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a call of a distressed 16-year-old at her foster home.
