The cooler weather is likely to diminish by Monday, just in time for Houston’s MLK Unity Parade.
Following a stretch of mild temperatures during the week, the Houston area is expecting a cold, dry holiday weekend, accompanied by a slight chance of flurries in the northern areas.
Consistent with a recent “seesaw pattern” of cold fronts moving through the area, a front is expected to sweep across Texas and approach the Houston area Friday evening, said Hailey Bailey, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service’s Houston-Galveston Office.
Behind that front, colder air is expected to blow in and be “unpacked” on Saturday and Sunday. Bailey said Saturday is expected to be “the colder of the days —most of the area will be in the 50s.”…
