Driver found asleep at red light arrested for DWI

HOUSTON, Texas — A 45-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after deputies found him asleep behind the wheel at a red light on Monroe Blvd. Witnesses remained on the scene until deputies arrived, according to a press release from the department.

Upon arrival, deputies observed the traffic light cycle from red to green and back to red while the driver, identified as Pablo Neyra, remained slumped over in the driver’s seat. The vehicle was running, in drive, with Neyra’s foot on the brake. Deputies safely disabled the vehicle and detained Neyra without incident. He was subsequently taken into custody and booked into the Joint Processing Center…
