HAMMOND, La. (WGNO) — A narcotics investigation in Hammond on Tuesday, Jan. 27, resulted in the seizure of over $1 million worth of cocaine and three arrests, according to the Louisiana State Police.
LSP officials said the investigation targeted members of an alleged drug trafficking organization involved in the interstate distribution of cocaine. Multiple search warrants were executed in the Hammond area, allegedly resulting in the seizure of around 20 kilograms of cocaine valued at around $1.5 million. Troopers also seized a Glock handgun and around $7,150 in cash.

The following people were arrested in connection with the investigation:
- 19-year-old Jorge Lira of San Juan, Texas
- Possession with intent to distribute of Schedule II CDS (Cocaine)
- Conspiracy to distribute a Schedule II CDS (Cocaine)
- 38-year-old Eliberto Guajardo of San Juan, Texas
- Possession with intent to distribute of Schedule II CDS (Cocaine)
- Conspiracy to distribute a Schedule II CDS (Cocaine)
- 44-year-old Brice Strain Jr. of Tomball, Texas
- Possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS (Cocaine)
- Possession with intent to distribute of Schedule II CDS (Cocaine)
- Conspiracy to distribute a Schedule II CDS (Cocaine)
All three were booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail…
