A man accused of leading police on a destructive 27-mile long chase through Houston and Harris County while driving a military transport truck will not immediately stand trial and will instead be sent to a state hospital for mental health treatment, according to court records.
Omar Moreno, 53, of Houston, last month was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault against a public servant after he allegedly rammed deputies’ cars while leading them on a chase. He was also charged with evading arrest.
