Thousands of truck enthusiasts gathered to display their revving, roving labors of love at the annual Lone Star Throwdown in Conroe this weekend, one of the country’s largest custom truck shows.
On a sunny, breezy Saturday afternoon, spectators admired row upon row of trucks with idiosyncratic modifications, from rusted Chevrolet lowriders that scraped the pavement as they drove, to 1-ton pickups with beds lifted above eye level.
The scene was lively but controlled. Conroe police did not immediately respond to a question about whether street takeovers or crime had been reported.
