Exclusive: Fort Bend residents fought plans for a concrete crusher. Now the company is backing off.

A Houston developer’s concrete crushing company appears to be withdrawing from its battle with hundreds of residents living in popular suburban enclaves in Fort Bend County.

Julpit Inc., a firm founded by Houston developer John S. Beeson, has already been rebuffed twice by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality since residents started protesting its proposed plant in August 2024.

In both cases, the company refiled paperwork to continue pursuing air permits for its plans to build a facility north of Rosharon to crush industrial volumes of torn-up concrete. But neighbors still feared the proposed project would raise particle pollution in nearby neighborhoods…
