Serviacero USA has purchased a rail-served site at Gulf Inland Logistics Park in Houston, where the Mexico-based steel manufacturing and processing company will open its first U.S. operation.
With its direct access to Union Pacific Railroad and BNSF Railway networks, the park’s location will help the company better serve the U.S. market, a Serviacero official said in a press release. The park is close to other major transportation arteries, including the Port of Houston.
The park’s rail infrastructure is scaling rapidly: Yards 1 and 2 are fully operational, with 1,000 rail-car storage spaces.
