Conroe ends contracts with top-level staff, wiping long-term payout obligations off the city’s books

The Conroe City Council agreed to close the contracts of its four top employees, moving the city away from long-term agreements with large payouts and scheduled pay raises.

The council approved the action Thursday in a 4-1 vote. Mayor Pro Tem Howard Wood was the lone nay vote.
