The incident occurred on the 300 block of Shoreview Drive near Cut and Shoot, prompting a heavy law enforcement response and ongoing investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities reported that the suspect, identified as 57-year-old Stanley Hardin, is now in custody and expected to face capital murder charges.

According to Sheriff Wesley Doolittle, deputies received a 911 call around 2:00 PM on Monday from a woman who reported that her estranged husband had crashed his vehicle into the home and was attempting to enter.

Officials say the suspect forced his way inside and fired multiple gunshots, resulting in the deaths of:

  • A 50-year-old woman, believed to be Hardin’s wife
  • An 80-year-old woman, believed to be his mother-in-law

After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene, traveling first to his son’s residence and later to his own home on Ivy Drive, approximately five miles away.
