Houston-based company to build 3D-printed home community along Gulf Coast

HOUSTON — Another community of 3D-printed homes planned for the Greater Houston area, this time along the Gulf Coast.

Houston-based HiveAsmbld, formerly known as Hive3D, is set to begin 3D printing a 23-home community at 506 Jenni Lane in San Leon on April 8. The project, a collaboration between HiveAsmbld and Commander Home Builders, will be called Gulf Shore Estates.

The new community will be on 4.5 acres near Broadway Street, directly across from San Leon Elementary and just 3.5 miles from state Highway 146. The community is expected to be completed by this fall…
