Texas Southern senior Sincere Barrette killed in Houston hit-and-run on West Loop; HPD seeks driver

Houston police continue to investigate a fatal hit-and-run crash on the West Loop last week that killed a Texas Southern University senior.

Sincere Barrette, 24, a senior Computer Science major from New York, was killed in the crash on the morning of March 28 in the 2500 block of West Loop South, according to a news release from the Houston Police Department. Police are still seeking the driver of an unknown vehicle who did not stop after the crash.

A post from TSU confirmed Barrette was a student at the university.

“Texas Southern University is deeply saddened to inform its community of the passing of Fallen Tiger, Sincere Barrette, a senior Computer Science major from New York,” according to the post. “Sincere found his home within our Tiger family, and his presence, ambition, and spirit will forever remain a part of Texas Southern University. We extend our sincerest condolences to his family, friends, classmates, and all who had the privilege of knowing his bright spirit.”…
