‘He let out shots on everybody’ | Witness video sheds light on dispute that led to gunfire in New Caney neighborhood

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — Montgomery County deputies and multiple law enforcement agencies responded to what was initially reported as an active shooter situation Saturday afternoon in the Kings Colony neighborhood in New Caney, where officials say a suspect is now in custody.

Investigators say the incident began around 1 p.m. as an argument between a 17-year-old boy and 60-year-old Juan Ayala-Montero. The family involved told KHOU the situation escalated when Ayala-Montero allegedly pointed a rifle from a home and fired multiple shots over the course of several hours.
