Trooper says 1,668 pounds of marijuana found in Penske truck on I-44

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A man is facing a first-degree trafficking in drugs felony after a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper said he found about 1,668 pounds of packaged marijuana inside a Penske box truck on I-44 in Greene County.

According to the probable cause statement, a trooper saw the truck traveling eastbound on I-44 near U.S. 65 on Sept. 18, 2023. The trooper checked the truck’s speed at 72 mph in a 60 mph zone and stopped it.

The driver and only person in the truck was identified in the filing as Klodian Nikolia. According to the statement, Nikolia first told the trooper he was hauling personal items and provided a rental agreement showing the truck had been rented in Phoenix on Sept. 5, 2023, and was due back in Utica, Michigan, on Sept. 13…
