SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Battlefield Fire Protection District says a lightning strike started a structure fire during severe storms on Monday, June 8.
A release from the fire district states they responded to a home on Monday morning, where they observed smoke from the roof.
Crews found the fire in the attic and quickly controlled the flames through the attic door access in the garage, officials report.
