SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – The Scenic Avenue Bridge in Springfield is structurally complete but remains closed to traffic while the city finishes surrounding improvements.
Drivers have used a detour for more than four months while the bridge underwent replacement. The city coordinated the bridge work with stormwater, sidewalk, and accessibility improvements between Sunshine Street and Olive Street.
“The larger Scenic ARPA improvements further north on that street are set to be completed in August, but this portion that’s right north of the bridge that will get you to Bennett will be open in a few weeks, allowing the bridge to open,” said Marra Holt, Springfield’s communication coordinator…
