OZARK, Mo. (KY3) – Christian County investigators arrested a man wanted in a 1997 deadly shooting.
A grand jury indicted James Deckard on a first-degree murder charge in the death of Jack Housh, 62.
Investigators say Housh was found shot to death outside of his home in Bruner, Mo., on November 18, 1997. Court records state Deckard is accused of shooting Housh with a shotgun. Deckard allegedly became angry when Housh refused to sell him a Camaro.
“While no outcome can erase the loss suffered by Mr. Housh’s family and loved ones, we hope this announcement provides them with a measure of closure,” said Sheriff Bard Cole. “This case is a testament to the dedication of the investigators who worked tirelessly over the years and to the commitment that cold cases are never forgotten. Whether it takes months or decades, we remain committed to pursuing the truth and seeking justice for victims.”…
