WILLARD, Mo. — The City of Willard is proposing a new road connection that officials say could help reduce traffic in the city’s downtown area.
According to an application submitted to the Ozarks Transportation Organization (OTO), the city wants to extend Willey Street with about 900 feet of new roadway, creating a connection between existing routes that lead to Highway AB, Highway Z and Highway O.
The city said the connection would allow school buses to bypass downtown, The city also said the project could improve connections to Willard Middle and High schools and reduce traffic along Jackson and Miller Road.
