SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Tailwaters Access, where Lake Springfield Dam meets the James River, has been closed.
City Utilities of Springfield, the entity that runs the area, says the move was made as the City of Springfield, Springfield Fire, SGF-Greene County Park Board and CU officials met to discuss additional safety measures around Lake Springfield.
The utility company tells Ozarks First via statement, “Following the June 14 tragedy at Lake Springfield, City Utilities met with the Springfield Greene-County Park Board and Springfield Fire Department with the City of Springfield, to evaluate whether additional safety measures on Lake Springfield were appropriate.”…
