SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A federal judge sentenced a Springfield man to nearly 22 years in prison for drug trafficking and firearm charges.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Roy Reed, 46, was sentenced to 262 months, or 21 years and 10 months, in federal prison without parole, followed by four years of supervised release. He was sentenced for possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
On Sept. 10, 2025, a Springfield police officer stopped a pickup truck driven by Reed at a gas station on Division Street. When an officer tried to contact Reed, he backed his vehicle towards the officer and fled into traffic while speeding and driving in the median. Officers pursued Reed but later abandoned the pursuit for public safety.
