SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – About 350 people registered for NAMI Southwest Missouri’s Neon Night 5K and walk in Springfield, an event centered on remembering people lost to suicide.
Louie Trujillo ran his first 5K to remember two friends he lost to suicide, Jose Carranza and a man he knew as Tank. Trujillo worked with Carranza for seven years.
“He was the type of person, if you ever called and you needed something, he’d be the first one there for you,” Trujillo said. “I don’t know how many times he’s come through for me or come to the house, has been there just to listen, just to be by me.”
