SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Diesel gas prices are on the rise across the country; here in the Midwest, there’s been a 43-cent increase since this time last week, according to the U.S.Energy Information Administration. These rising prices have started to worry some local non-profits and food pantries.
Crosslines Resource Center says some families there are having to choose between a meal on the table and getting to work.
“We deliver to seniors. We also allow people to make call-in orders so they can have somebody else come out if they can’t come out,” said Austen Korell, the director of food services at Crosslines. “Most of it is through our pantry here, and we try to make it as easy as possible so that you don’t have to spend a lot of time in your car idling; you can come in and shop for your own stuff.”…
