SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) — Finding an affordable rental in Springfield is tough enough, but imagine paying nearly $1,800, moving your family in, and then being told you are trespassing. That is the reality one local family is facing.
It started with what seemed like the perfect listing on Facebook Marketplace: a two-bedroom, one-bathroom home with a detached garage on West Thoman Street in north Springfield.
“It was supposed to be beneficial for all of us, and it ended up being chaos,” said Mystic Hudson, a Springfield mother who fell victim to the scam. “It was a cute little two-bedroom, one-bath with a detached garage. It was so cute. It was going to be perfect for us.”…
