SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – We’re getting closer to being able to take a walk across Springfield’s historic Jefferson Avenue footbridge; something no one’s been able to do for more than a decade.
Sydnie Myers, the owner of Serendipity on Commercial Street and a Commercial Street board member, says community members are eager to see pedestrians crossing over the railyard once again.
“Everyone’s very anxious and excited for it to be open, me included. And of course, there’s disappointment when a deadline is set, and then it doesn’t happen by then,” Myers said. “But we’re all just really excited for the day that finally comes and hope it’s soon. I’m excited to see with the amount of activity we now have on Commercial Street how much the bridge being open will impact that.”…
