SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – The Kitchen is a resource for people experiencing homelessness in Springfield, and it’s getting a much-needed expansion.
It used to be based out of the Missouri Hotel on Commercial Street, but wanting to provide more privacy for the people staying there, The Kitchen opened its own emergency shelter in 2018.
The shelter’s 13 apartment-style units have served nearly 900 people, but in order to serve even more, The Kitchen built 12 new units in a shelter expansion…
