State Rep. Crystal Quade hoping to put abortion rights on November ballot

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A Springfield Democrat is proposing a resolution to restore abortion rights in Missouri.

House Minority Leader Crystal Quade said after traveling across the state and speaking with people, she found that both Democrat and Republican voters want to see the issue on the ballot.

“So many folks across Missouri, Republicans, conservatives, independents are extremely frustrated with this extreme abortion law that we have in Missouri right now,” Quade said. “Missourians across the board, I believe, are wanting this and are going to be excited to sign the ballot initiative.”

Quade and Representative Peter Merideth from St. Louis filed two proposals, which are similar to an initiative petition that is going around in an attempt to put an abortion rights measure on the Nov. 5 ballot statewide.
