Freezing rain causes icy conditions across the Ozarks

On Monday morning, Jan. 22, the Ozarks experienced its first true ice storm of the year, causing travel impacts, school and business closings and more. The National Weather Service in Springfield reported ice amounts from just a small glaze all the way up to .10 inches of ice at various locations across southwest Missouri. The area saw a mixture of minor and moderate winter storm impacts leading to hazardous driving conditions, closures and disruptions to infrastructure.
