Kissick Avenue Bridge closed in Springfield for utility work

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Beginning on Jan. 29, City Utilities will be making repairs to a natural gas main running along the Kissick Avenue bridge over Lake Springfield, which will close nearby traffic.

The bridge and the following areas will be closed and diverted, with the work expected to take a full week.

  • Southbound Kissick Avenue traffic will be diverted at the Lake Springfield Park area.
  • Northbound Kissick Avenue traffic will be diverted near the James River Power Station.
  • The intersection of Kissick and Lake Ridge will be closed to all traffic while repairs are being made.
  • Motorists should make alternate travel plans and avoid using Kissik Avenue, or River Oaks Street, leading to that area, during the week of January 29.
