Man arrested after hours long standoff in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A man has been arrested after a standoff with Springfield police.

The Springfield Police Department (SPD) responded to a shots fired call in the 2800 block of W. Olive St. around 11:15 p.m. on Monday.

Man sentenced 20 years for rape of underage girls

SPD said the incident began as a dispute between neighbors when one man fired a few shots toward other people before barricading himself inside a home.

After several hours, officers were able to arrest the man without incident.

SPD said no one was hurt.
