Zach Fortner, whose family created the original Pineapple Whip in 1974, said they weren’t sure whether the wintertime event would take off.

“The Whip Solstice started because our customers always told us how much they wished we were open in the winter,” Fortner said in a release. “We thought, just for fun, we’d open for a few days in the dead of winter and see what happened. We didn’t think anyone other than a few super-fans would show but here we are doing it again, 10 years running.”
