Affordable Towing property set on fire again

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Affordable Towing site was at the center of another fire Sunday morning.

The Springfield Fire Department says they responded to a fire at the Affordable Towing building on Feb. 4, 2024, at 8:15 a.m.

They arrived at the scene where smoke was emitting from the building. The fire team quickly forced their way into the structure and extinguished the fire.

Old Affordable Towing lots expected to be cleaned up

The fire department says the building only suffered minor damages and no injuries were reported.

This is the third fire that occurred this week at the Affordable Towing property on E. Florida Street. The area has become the center of numerous fires and 911 calls for several weeks.

A major fire previously broke out at the Affordable Towing lot Wednesday, January 31, where over 20 cars and a bus caught fire, and black smoke was seen from the sky in Northeast Springfield.

The cause of Sunday’s fire is currently unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
