Ozark cheerleading heading to nationals

OZARK, Mo. — The Ozark High School Cheerleading Team is gearing up for a long trip to Orlando, Florida for the National High School Cheerleading competition after qualifying at regionals.

The cheerleaders showed their friends and family in Missouri what they’ve been working on in preparation at their showcase Sunday night.

“Getting to see the people that you love and care about what you do is just really encouraging,” said Ozark senior Reese Renfrow.

Months of hard work have gotten the cheerleaders at Ozark High School to where they are today, and they say this team is like family.

“It motivates me to work harder for them because this whole team is built on trust,” Renfrow said. “And I got to trust my teammates to do their job. They’re going to trust me to do mine, and so building that bond and building that trust is really important.”

Head Cheerleading Coach Tess Keller says the team has won every state competition they’ve competed in this year, and they still have one more competition when they return from nationals.
