Niangua Man Injured In Monday Afternoon Motorcycle Accident

A 57-year-old Niangua man suffered serious injuries following a two-vehicle accident at 5:00 p.m. Monday on State Highway CC, 1 mile east of Marshfield. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that a pickup driven by 91-year-old Garrel E. O’Conner of Niangua, crossed the center line on a curve and struck a motorcycle ridden by 57-year-old Paul A. Caruso of Niangua. Caruso then traveled off the roadway and overturned. O’Conner’s pickup ran off the left side of the road and struck two fences. Caruso was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries. He was not wearing a helmet. O’Conner was not reported to have any injuries.
