At a critical moment late in the game, Nixa freshman Adam McKnight elevated above a defender and got a floater to fall through contact. He landed on his feet and pumped his fist as he screamed in celebration.
McKnight, who wears his emotions on his sleeve, came through in a big moment for the Eagles.
It’s a sight that Nixa fans are going to see plenty for the next four years.

“It was a good turning point in the game,” McKnight said. “It got the momentum going our way. I got a little excited.”
McKnight has been front and center for the Nixa varsity basketball program this season. He scored 14 points in the Eagles’ 57-46 win over Republic on Tuesday night to keep Nixa in control of the Central Ozark Conference — all while adding to his growing list of accomplishments as he continues to establish himself as one of the best young athletes in the Ozarks.
The 6-foot-4, 185-pound 15-year-old averages a double-double for one of the area’s premier teams. He’s been the team’s most consistent player for a program that rarely starts freshmen.
