FAIR GROVE, Mo. – Firefighters in Fair Grove arrived at the scene of a fire in a field Thursday afternoon where about 200 hay bales were burning.
The fire was spreading and catching more of the field on fire before firefighters were able to contain it. It is still burning, but firefighters have it under control, according to a Facebook post by the Fair Grove Fire Protection District.
The Fair Grove Fire Protection District is being assisted by the Strafford Fire Protection District , Elkland Fire Protection District, and Southern Dallas Fire Protection District in fighting the fire.
The Facebook post said that heavy smoke is obscuring Sheridan Road, so drivers should use caution if taking that road and avoid it if possible while the fire is fully put out.
