Lady Bears collect first win over Belmont 73-54

SPRINGFIELD, Mo–Missouri State tipped off a two game home stand Friday night against Belmont.

The Lady Bears were looking for their third straight win.

Mo State comes into the game in sole possession of third place in the Valley.

Belmont is tied for first with Drake.

The Bruins beat the Lady Bears in Nashville two weeks ago.

And the Lady Bears jumped out to quick start, Kyrah Daniels with the lay up, it’s 11-nothing Missouri State.

Later in the first quarter, Kennedy Taylor with the fade away jumper it’s 18-6 Lady Bears.

Belmont trying to get its offense in gear in the second quarter, Emily La Chapell with the three pointer makes it a seven point game.

But Indya Green answers with a three of her own from the wing, it’s 31-22 Lady Bears.

Missouri State led 35-29 at halftime.

Third quarter, Lacy Stokes feeds Jade Masogayo in the lane for the lay up, Lady Bears back up by ten.

She led Mo State with 17 points.

The Bruins turning up the defense, Belmont with the steal, out to Kilyn McGuff on the breakaway, the Bruins got within four.
