Vehicle of missing Oklahoma man found in Springfield parking lot

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Springfield Police Department (SPD) officers found a vehicle belonging to an Owasso, Oklahoma man who has been missing for over a week.

Sean Marcum was reported missing by family members to the Owasso Police Department (OPD) on Feb. 4, 2024.

SPD says that they located Marcum’s abandoned vehicle on the evening of Feb. 11 in the parking lot of a church on the 1600 block of West Republic Road. Officers say the vehicle has been abandoned for four days.

Marcum’s family last saw him leave his workplace in Collinsville, Oklahoma on Jan. 31. An investigation from the OPD revealed that a police officer in Chesterfield, Missouri contacted Marcum on Feb. 3.

Marcum told the officer that he was heading to Springfield. He was alone and did not request help during their interaction.

Though the OPD does not believe Marcum is in danger, his family noted his behavior as out of the ordinary.
