OTC offering job-focused courses for spring semester

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Ozarks Technical Community College (OTC) is offering employment-focused courses in manufacturing and welding for the spring semester.

A release from OTC says the courses can be completed in two to 10 weeks and are focused on preparing students for entry-level positions.

Courses offered include:

  • Fundamentals of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Operation (March 18-29)
    • Meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
  • Fundamentals of Gas Metal Arc Welding (March 22 to May 10)
    • Meets Fridays from 12:00 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Introduction to Programmable Logic (March 22 to May 24)
    • Meets Fridays from 8 a.m. to 11:25 a.m.
  • Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Operation and Process Development
    • Meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Students will earn college credit that can be applied to an OTC certificate or degree.

Qualified students can use financial aid (such as Pell Grants or the Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant) to pay for tuition, fees and supplies.
