Crash on James River Freeway onto southbound 65

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A crash is blocking traffic in several lanes on eastbound US 60 at the 65 south exit ramp Thursday afternoon.

According to OzarksTraffic, the crash occurred at 3:34 p.m.

The Springfield Police Department said that a silver Chevy was traveling east on US 60 when it stuck a Cadillac. The Cadillac was pushed into the eastbound retaining wall and the Chevy continued sliding until it struck a white van and flipped over.

The driver of the van and the driver of the Chevy were both taken to the hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Cadillac did not require an ambulance.

The right lanes leading to the exit are closed to traffic and traffic is backed up at least a mile. Traffic is moving slowly in the other lanes as well in the area.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area while emergency crews clear the scene. There is no information on injuries, but the initial crash caused at least one other crash nearby, which closed the left lane of US 60 eastbound. The lane has reopened as of 4:30 p.m.
