The Lawrence County Missouri Sheriff’s Office is investigating the discovery of a body on Tuesday. The discovery was made near the city of Mount Vernon, between Joplin and Springfield. The body was badly decomposed when it was found, though investigators say they are 90% certain of the identity of the person. An autopsy has been conducted in order to determine the cause of death and to gather more inofrmation about the individual.
