Voters approve public safety sales tax in Bolivar, Mo.

BOLIVAR, Mo. (KY3) – Voters in Bolivar approved a public safety sales tax. The measure came after budget shortfalls caused the police, fire, and emergency management to struggle to keep salaries competitive, increase staff, and provide necessary equipment upgrades. The sales tax will be 75 cents for every $100 spent in a store.
