Springfield Man Sentenced to 18 Years for Major Meth Trafficking and Firearms Offenses

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A Springfield man has been sentenced to 18 years in federal prison for his involvement in a meth trafficking conspiracy and illegal firearm possession.

Justin Thomas Hollingsworth, 40, received his sentence from U.S. District Judge Brian C. Wimes after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime.

Hollingsworth’s activities spanned from June 1 to August 25, 2022, during which he distributed large quantities of methamphetamine in Greene County, Mo. On August 25, 2022, he was found in possession of a Ruger 9mm pistol and a Smith & Wesson .380-caliber pistol.

Court documents revealed that Hollingsworth earned over $30,000 in one month from methamphetamine sales and was accountable for nearly five kilograms of methamphetamine. A search of his residence on June 29, 2022, uncovered 342.4 grams of methamphetamine, two loaded firearms, assorted prescription pills, drug paraphernalia, and $17,766 in cash.
