Nootbaar on track to return to STL; Mathews flourishes in AA debut

SPRINGFIELD–Laars Nootbaar sat out the Springfield Cardinals series finale with the Arkansas Travelers, on Sunday, but spoke to KOLR10’s Chris Pinson before the contest.

Nootbaar remarked about feeling near 100 percent and being able to move the way he wanted/needed to, so he could return to St. Louis very soon.

Nootbaar started Friday and Saturday night in right field for Springfield. He was a combined 2-6 at the plate over those two games. He did not register a hit on Friday, but on Saturday, he went 2-3 with a single and a solo home run in the bottom of the 6th.
